Broadcasting Career Mentor provides educational programming and skill-based training to urban youth nationwide to improve communication skills, develop technology skills, foster creativity, build confidence, and enhance economic opportunities by preparing youth for jobs in the 21st century.
Why We Do It
9 out of 10,000 HS Seniors who play football will get drafted by the NFL.
3 out of 10,000 HS Seniors who play basketball will get drafted by the NBA.
So what do these youth do when their sports dreams don't work out? BCM provides hands-on training in the areas of hosting, interviewing, reporting, and more. This improves their communication skills and their confidence which are vital in any walk of life. Furthermore, it exposes them to careers as sports hosts, sports analysts, sports reporters and other sports media positions. This allows youth to learn how they can stay connected to the sports they love while earning a living.
